The sixth annual NewsTECHForum, set for Dec. 10-11 at the New York Hilton, will bring together engineering, news, production and digital leaders to discuss excellence in news storytelling and news workflow.

Lefkovitz’s IP discussion will be presented on Monday, Dec. 10, from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. She will moderate the panel featuring Brad Plant, director of technology and operations at NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations; Tony Plosz, vice president engineering and operations at WCAU and Telemundo62 Philadelphia; and Matt Keiler, vice president North American Sales at TVU Networks.

“Marcy Lefkovitz has played a key role in Disney ABC Television Group’s ongoing transition to IP,” said Kathy Haley, TVNewsCheck’s publisher and co-founder. “Brad and Tony have led the way for NBCUniversal Owned Stations, putting a foot in the water by building one of the first television stations to utilize an IP core. And Matt comes from the vantage point of a pioneering IP player working to extend its influence from the field into the studio. It’s going to be a fascinating discussion.”

NewsTECHForum is co-located with the SportsVideoGroup Summit, which gathers nearly 2000 sports technologists and production managers to talk about excellence in sports production. The Summit features a technology showcase, open to NewsTECHForum attendees, of more than 75 companies.

This year’s NewsTECHForum will also feature the first annual Social Media Excellence Awards, recognizing extraordinary engagement and innovation by local TV brands and talent.
