Chris Boex

WTVT, Senior Web Producer

Chris Boex has spent nearly two decades as a digital manager in television newsrooms, helping define what local TV news looks like when it’s not on TV. His career has included stops in Columbus, OH, then New York City, and finally Tampa, FL, where he's led the digital and social efforts at Fox’s WTVT since 2006.

Through the years, Boex managed a large team of hyper-local journalists, helped build one of the largest social media footprints in local TV news, launched the first mobile app in his station group, designed and built several standalone websites, and helped create Fox’s highly successful hurricane-tracking tool, MyFoxHurricane.com.

Boex likes to say he was an MMJ back before it was a thing, producing original digital content from a wide variety of events. His work has been recognized by the AP and SPJ, and he's won a national Edward R. Murrow Award.
