NBC Connecticut/Telemundo CT, Technical Manager

Jack Kane is technical manager at NBC Connecticut/Telemundo CT in West Hartford, CT. Kane's career at NBC Connecticut started in November 1989, when he came on board as a production assistant. It quickly became apparent that he had an aptitude for everything technical, and within a month he was on the Engineering staff. Kane rose through the ranks as a satellite truck operator for over 20 years, then moved back into the building as a staff engineer. He has held the role of technical manager since 2016.

In his role as technical manager, Kane oversees all technical functions in the building, planning and executing remote production. He most recently headed up the launch of the new lifestyle program CT Live!. Kane was primarily responsible for NBC Connecticut being the first local station in the market to launch a fleet of drones, which boasts nighttime flight and zoom capability. His breadth of knowledge in television makes him an asset to all departments within the duopoly and across the NBC Universal broadcast stations. Kane is the technical designer of Snow Monster, the one-of-a-kind Jeep Wrangler 4x4, created to gather and deliver meteorological data during changeable and volatile New England winters.

Kane is a proud Eagle Scout and father to twin 14 year-old boys.
