Matt Goldberg

NBC LX, VP, Content Strategy

Matt Goldberg is the VP of content strategy for LX, NBCUniversal TV station group's new digital news brand that launched in September 2019 and is scheduled to debut as an over-the-air and streaming network in April 2020. LX or 'Local X' serves Gen Z and millennial audiences. In this role, he oversees all aspects of the LX business.

A seasoned local broadcast professional with more than 16 years of experience working for NBC stations, Goldberg joined LX in July 2018 after working as the assistant news director and managing editor at NBC 4 / KNBC in Los Angeles for four and a half years, and for NBC Bay Area / KNTV for three and a half years. Before moving into news management roles, Goldberg worked as an investigative producer at KNBC and KCBS in Los Angeles. While at both stations, he was recognized with several local and national journalism awards for his investigative work. Prior to this, Goldberg worked at KGO in San Francisco and KPRC in Houston, and launched his career in broadcasting as a college student at Arizona State University.

Goldberg is a former elected board member (June 2013 – June 2019) for the Investigative Reporters & Editors (IRE) non-profit organization and past board president (2016 – 2018).

Goldberg earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast management from Arizona State University’s Cronkite School of Journalism. He resides in New York City.
