Dan Krauth
WABC, ReporterAward-winning investigative journalist Dan Krauth joined ABC7/WABC-TV New York’s Eyewitness News team in October 2019. He received a national Edward R. Murrow Award for Investigative Reporting in 2025 along with more than a dozen Emmy Awards and other regional honors.
Krauth’s most recent reporting on “squatting” exposed a legal loophole which directly led to legislators changing New York State law and to the squatter featured in his investigations being sent to prison. He has additionally investigated a variety of issues over the past two decades, including negative plastic surgery practices in Florida which prompted lawmakers to overhaul safety regulations in 2019. His reporting also led to recommended changes in how a popular plastic surgery is performed worldwide.
Prior to joining Eyewitness News, Krauth spent five years working at WTVJ in Miami as an investigative journalist. He also worked as an investigative reporter at WPTV in West Palm Beach, Fl.; a reporter for WXMI in Grand Rapids, Mich.; and a weekend anchor/reporter for WISE in Fort Wayne, Ind. His first job in television news was a morning show producer for WREX in Rockford, Ill.
Born and raised in a suburb of Detroit, Krauth graduated with honors from the University of Michigan.
