David Gwinn

David Gwinn leads software solutions & system sustainment for ABC News, overseeing the technical workflow design, system implementation and sustainment that power one of the most complex broadcast ecosystems in the industry. Based at the network’s flagship facility at 7 Hudson Square, he directs cross-disciplinary teams responsible for post production, graphics, playout, ingest, transmission, media automation and orchestration. His focus is integrating and driving adoption of technology in daily broadcast operations.

A career technologist with a background in many aspects of media engineering, Gwinn has been instrumental in modernizing ABC’s production environments, pushing major infrastructure rebuild efforts and developing internal platforms that unify editorial and technical workflows. His leadership emphasizes technological resilience, intuitive design and collaboration between engineers and journalists, seamlessly bridging the gap between software and storytelling.

Gwinn’s current work centers on story-centric newsroom implementations and middleware to enrich media research and discoverability to streamline operations.
