Micah Gelman

Senior Editor, Director of Editorial Video, Washington Post

Micah Gelman is the Director of Video and a Senior Editor at The Washington Post where he manages all editorial and business functions of Post video, overseeing a team of more than 70 video journalists. Gelman joined The Post in 2015 from Discovery Communications where he was Senior Director, Digital Video Strategy. At Discovery, he led the conception and development of Discovery GO, the cable network's first TV Everywhere offering. Prior to his work on Discovery GO, he oversaw programming of free full episodes for all Discovery's domestic digital networks. He also built Animal Planet L!VE, that channel's first advertising-supported over-the-top offering. Before Discovery, Gelman was Executive Producer of U.S. video for the Associated Press, where he oversaw all domestic output for both AP's Online Video Network and for Associated Press Television News. He began his career in local television news as an assignment editor at WPMT (York, PA) and WTVH-TV (Syracuse, NY); as a producer at WIXT (now WSYR, Syracuse New York), WBNS (Columbus, Ohio) and WDSU (News Orleans); and as executive producer at WJZ (Baltimore).
